Are You Ready for Truth About the Future?
Jesus promised He would return again.
This is fantastic news, for those who are ready! The Bible is very clear on how we are to be ready for that great and glorious day.
But many are not ready for Christ's return, even though they think they are.
Why? Because Jesus isn't coming back the way they think He is. Many rely on their pastor or priest to tell them how it's going to happen, rather than studying for themselves.
Jesus warned in Matthew 24:11 that "Many false prophets will arise and mislead many." He also says this in Matthew 24:24,25, "For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect. Behold, I have told you in advance."
Jesus foretold that many would be misled because they depend on others to tell them what the Bible says. Is it possible that you have been misled?
There are so many different ideas about when and how Jesus will return.
The problem is there is so much confusion on the subject. The fact is that everyone can't be right! The Bible is so clear on this subject. So how can there be so much confusion? Confusion is Satan's plan - to confuse you and me so we are not ready for the soon return of Jesus Christ.
There will be serious last day deceptions.
The Bible tells us that in the last days people will believe in things that are demonic distortions of the truth. In 1 Timothy 4:1 we read, "But the Spirit explicitly says that in the latter times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons."
Who is preaching these doctrines of untruth? You might be surprised! The Bible is very clear when it says in 2 Corinthians 11:14,15, "No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as ministers of righteousness...." The prophet Jeremiah warned of the same problem in his day. "My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray . . . (Jeremiah 50:6).
Have you ever wondered why there are so many denominations and why they are teaching and preaching different, sometimes conflicting messages? They all can't be telling the truth, can they?
Over the years humans have misinterpreted and corrupted the clear teachings of the Bible. Some border on heresy and even blasphemy. Sadly, people put complete trust in the beliefs of their churches and listened to their leaders without studying the Bible for themselves. The result is confusion. This is especially dangerous in these last days because this misdirected trust will cause many to miss out on eternity.
So, who can you trust?
Only Jesus! He is our only hope, our Savior, the one who paid the penalty for sin - your sin. He is the only one you can totally trust. You can trust His Word, the Word of God, the Bible. It is truth, and you can trust it without reservation. But you have to trust all of it, not just bits and pieces. Not just what others tell you, even if it is a pastor or preacher. It is not open for human interpretations or cultural or social whims.
Study God's Word
The important point is this: Now is the time to seek the Lord and His truth. Study God's Word for yourself. Pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit as you begin. Study it with a determination to know the truth and reject the false doctrines and teachings that have accumulated over centuries. Deadly deceptions are already in place with more to come. The only way to avoid being caught in Satan's traps is to be grounded in the sacred Word of God.
